Canning!
I know, old school...but I'm planting a HUGE garden this summer and I don't want one tomato to go to waste :)
So after a couple of years of wanting to learn how to can, I decided that this past week was THE week. I found an amazing blog HERE.I decided to start off with the Cucumber Pepper Relish. Off to Wegmans to get my jars (which are very cute).
This is a book on how to can that my Grams gave me. Look at the price she paid...35 cents!
The ingredients...
First I boiled the jars, lids and rings for 10 mins, then put them out to dry.
I chopped my peppers
And my cucumbers...
Going to be honest...didn't love my photos of the ingredients mixing together in a pot (better next time). But I mixed them with the rest of the ingredients...and then boiled the filled jars for another 10 mins.
Next up...pears with brown sugar and cardamom...droool :)
