Newborn Session with Miss Gabriela

Blankets...check! Space heaters...check! Humungo pillow...check!  And the list goes on and on...about 2-3 trip into your house long, unless I get lucky with help like I did from Carolyn, Gabriela's mom :)  I bring everything to you, at a location of your choice.  New parents just sit back and watch - or join in with ideas! I'm always open to your suggestions and ideas.

I was excited to step into the world of newborn photography this past month.  It's something I've been researching for months to be sure I was prepared.  Preparation is important to me, not only for my sake but for my clients.  I want my clients to be relaxed, at ease and have trust in what I am doing.  Photo sessions are fun :) Preparation allows for this happen every time!

Back to the session.  I could not believe how happy Gabriela was (not to mention unbelievably cute).  For a baby who does not like to be naked, she fell into a peaceful nap very quickly :)  Space heaters are amazing!

Off to lala land we go! This is the best way to start a newborn session.  If the baby is sleeping, we can position him/her much more easily.  They usually wake up later in the session to take a peek at what's going on.
I always recommend bringing personal items to any session.  It will make the photos even more meaningful to you.
She's awake! Look at those beautiful eyes!

If I feel a photo is a good fit for some special editing, I will include them in your CD.  I will always provide the color photo as well as the special edited photo so you have the choice of either.
I left some time at the end of this session for Mommy & Daddy. After all, they are just as important!

Thank you to Carolyn and Reec for allowing me to photograph Gabriela.  I had a great time, and can't wait to see you this summer.  You have a beautiful family!

Sessions are $85 plus tax and include:
* 2-3 hour photo session at a location of your choice
* 2-3 outfit changes

* Online gallery to view and order photos from

CD's are available for purchase - $60 plus tax

Newborn sessions are recommended within the first 10 days of birth.  Contact me at Erica@photerica.com to set up a session.  I will provide you with more details at that time!

Wedding: Sara & Mark

I want to start this blog off by saying a big thank you to my good friends Sara and Mark.  About a year ago they asked me to take their engagement photos...and nervously I said yes.  This past August they asked me to be their wedding photographer...and I said..."umm what, no?!" Literally not believing I had been asked that question.  After some convincing ("Erica, you can't say no, so just say yes." Sara said) I decided that this was not only an amazing chance they were giving me, but also a huge honor to be a part of their day.  I took a leap and here's a few photos from their wedding.

Mark and his dad own a photography business, creating beautiful images of the Adirondacks.  Check out their site: www.CreekSideImages.com.

Thank you so much for the opportunities you've given me to grow.  I loved being a part of your day <3

A brand new blog for a brand new year

Welcome to my blog!

Creating a new blog has been on my To-Do list for MONTHS! I decided that in the new year I would actually get a few more of the *important* things off of my list...starting with the blog.  And here it is!

I'm extremely excited to see what 2011 brings.  I've made this my "Just Do It" year.  It's the year of trying some new things, even if they make me ridiculously nervous.  One being the blog (because I care a LOT about what you think) and another being trying new types of photography sessions, such as newborns (I'm talking, spanking brand new - newborns) and weddings.  So far so good, one wedding down and a newborn session this weekend.  I'm hoping to see a huge growth in my business from 2010, my first year.  The support I've received from family, friends, photographers and even those I don't know has been amazing.  I can't thank you all enough for cheering me on!

Ok enough chitter chatter from me...I want to hear from YOU!  Always feel free to shoot me an email, or connect with me on Facebook by searching "Photerica".  Also, check out my website, done by thePark web design. Thank you Park Web Design for all of your help and talent with the site and MUCH more!
