Syndey | One!

Happy Birthday Syndey!

At first she was a bit unsure of what was going on...all the presents, people and decorations made her a bit curious and surprised!

But once she realized they were all for her, she was all smiles and giggles :)  She enjoyed her birthday party to the fullest!

Thank you for having me photograph Sydney's first birthday party!  Hope to see you again soon :)

Mason | One!

MASON

I was so excited when my husband's cousins Julie and Dave, asked me to take Mason's one year old photos.  I had taken their family photos back in the summer and had so much fun I was secretly hoping they would ask me again at some point :)  Lucky for me they did!  Mason turned one last week, so I spent the afternoon playing with this unbelievably cute little boy!

Thank you Julie & Dave for having me take Mason's 1-year old photos.  I had a TON of fun playing with Mason and catching up with you!

Mmmm greens and beans

To start off, I want to disclaim that this is not a normal way to make greens and beans.
      A. I didn't use the right kind of beans
      B. I didn't use the right spices and
      C. I put sour cream on it (I can't help it).

However it is one of my favorite things to eat because it just tastes sooo good.

Photographing food is not my strong point, but it's a lot of fun trying. If you want to see some amazing food photos check out Renee Julia Photography.  Her photos are so inspiring!  I'm also lucky to be partnering up with her on a few weddings this year.

Back to my night of beans and greens...here are a few photos!

Yes...I know garbanzo beans are not the right type of bean.  But that's all I had...and well, I love garbanzo beans!  Also - the garlic crusher in this photo is my favorite kitchen utensil (thanks to my mom!).

If you only knew how many witty responses I received on my FB page after I posted this photo...thanks for the laughs :)

Here is how I make this meal:

Chop and wash 1 head of escarole and place in pan with olive oil, salt and pepper.  Add 1 can of drained garbanzo beans (or whatever beans you have in your cupboard) and add to the pan.

After 5 mins, mix up the greens, add 1 clove of crushed garlic along with plenty of nutmeg. Mix every 5 mins. until greens are BRIGHT in color and wilted.

Add any seafood at the end! I threw some leftover shrimp in from the night before. I top with sour cream, but didn't show that photo since I thought it might be upsetting to my hard core greens and beans lovers ;)

Recording with Moja

Over the weekend I was asked to take photos of the band MOJAwhile they recorded their first album at Kaotic Studios.  I was excited for several reasons - one, I had never gone to a studio before (it's as cool as it sounds) and two, I would get to spend the day listening to great music while taking photos.  So relaxing!  Moja is a grass roots band - take a listen on their Facebook page (website coming soon!).

Thank you for having me tag along Moja! Can't wait to see you perform at The Towpath Cafe in April!
