Miss Payton | ONE!

How fast a year goes by!  Last year I was taking Mason's one year photos...and in a blink, I'm taking Payton's one year photos!  Every time I see these two they change bit by bit.  I'm so lucky to be the one to document their childhood :)

We started out by the lake.  It was such a foggy day, and much colder than expected, but they hung in there long enough for me to take these and several others:

She walks all on her own, but she held on to mommy's hand this day <3

 Handsome Mason...is 2!

Then we headed to the playground for some family fun!

Now, for Mason's one year photos we gave him his own cake to have fun with.  He was NOT into it at all, so we were anxious to see how Payton would react when we gave her a cake.  I think she was quite pleased...

Thank you Julie & Dave <3  Hugs and kisses to Payton and Mason!

Vacation Part 3 - Bryce Canyon!

Bryce Canyon is amazing!  It's one of the most bizarre places...but is very pretty.  On the drive to Bryce we stopped at a diner that one of Jay's friends family owns.  We were told to order biscuits and gravy with a cinnamon bun, so we did.  The cin buns were DELICIOUS...not to mention humungo.

My happy hiker :)

The shapes that wind and rain have created are just amazing.

One last vaca post to come - back to Zion, but a much different part of the park this time!

Canning: Plums in Honey

Ahh another blog about...canning.  My husband and I took a trip to the public market and picked up some fresh plums, vanilla beans and a few other ingredients.  When it's grey outside, these colorful fruits seem to make the day a bit brighter :)
Once again from,

mmm vanilla beans and cinnamon sticks!

We chopped up the plums and squished them into the jars, along with 1 cin. stick  and 1 piece of the vanilla bean per jar.

I boiled honey and water together, and then filled the jars! SO easy!

Can't wait to try these tomorrow night!
