Elyse & Luke | Engaged

Ahhhh love...as a friend of mine says "Erica loves love".  So true. I do!  Which is why I was excited for Elyse & Luke's engagement session a few weeks back.  Their wedding is in August and I can't wait to be their photographer.  Elyse is an old friend of my sister...pre-school old :)  I love that I knew her when she was so little, and now I will be photographing her wedding. Elyse has found a great guy, Luke.  These two are so happy together, it's easy to tell <3

So much fun!  Elyse and Luke I am REALLY looking forward to your wedding, it's going to be an amazing day :)  Thank you so much for choosing me as your photographer.

Leo | Little Ones

Soooo tiny...born about a month too early, this little guy was ready to get movin!  Shortly after he was allowed to come home, I was able to visit for Leo's photo session.  Oh.My.Goodness was he cute.  At about 5lbs he was so small, but much stronger then you would think!

He fought sleep for a few hours, dozing in and out here and there.  So curious about what was going on :)  Love the peach fuzz on his shoulders.

Mom and Dad are so happy he is finally home and doing well.

We took a break for lunch...you should have seen him chug his bottle!

Can't forget the cats...after all they are part of the family too!
Beautiful family! New beginnings are so exciting <3 Thank you for having me!

Session Details

This week I thought I'd do something a bit different and post an informational post!  I get all sorts of questions so this post might answer questions you have (but haven't asked!).

My sessions as a good opportunity for you and your family to relax and just enjoy being together.  When you're relaxed and in the moment it shows in your photographs.  I love to chat with my clients prior to the session about locations, clothing and accessories, session details from beginning to end and to answer any questions they might have.

My biggest thing:  Pick a location of YOUR choice.  A place that has meaning to you, and that you will feel reflects your relationship(s) and personality.  I will always ask you what type of setting you would like them done in, and will scope out locations prior to your shoot to be sure it will fit what you're looking for.

Secondly is comfort.  I'll give you ideas of color coordination, send you to sites with good visuals and talk about your wardrobe to help pick and choose what you bring along with you.  Accessories are always fun as well.  As long as you're comfortable and your clothing reflects YOU, we're golden ;)

Sessions are about 1 hour (newborns are 2 hours min and engagements are up to 2 hours).  Photo turn-around time is about 2 weeks.  With your session you will receive a link to your online gallery, which you can order professional prints from as well as share with your family and friends.  Contact me for CD, album and other product pricing.

My session fee through June 2011 is $85 (newborns and engagements are $100, Seniors are $135; however engagements are FREE if you book your wedding through me).  Book before June 30th for this rate, as it will increase in July. Payment is due in full to hold your date and can be made by check or Paypal. Summer books fast so be sure to schedule early! May is booked and I have a few dates left in June - hurry!

Now booking weddings for 2012!  Contact me for new pricing (starts at $1400).  I will be blogging about albums and other products over the next month or so.  All wedding packages include a *free* engagement session!

I love spending time photographing couples, families, pets etc, and want you to have just as much fun...so sessions are always relaxed! If you have any questions just shoot me an email at Erica@photerica.com.  Check out my website for more information: www.Photerica.com

Libby | *Little Ones*

Ohhh they just make my heart melt.  This little girl was only 6 days old and not overly excited about having her photos taken!  Libby made some of the most annoyed, and yet cutest faces I've ever seen...she had us laughing most of the time. :)  Eventually, mom lulled her to sleep and we were able to take full advantage of all her cuteness.  She was such a good girl!

Thank you Mollie for letting me play with Libby for a few hours.  She is so sweet and cuddly.  I can't wait for our session in May!

Ann & Andy | Engaged

Growing up (and still to this day), Ann helped pick vegetables and fruit at her family farm; Fisher Farms.  She knows every type of apple (EVERY TYPE) and if you test her (like I do), she will tell you what kind of apple you are holding :)  Which is why taking photos at the barn was the location of her choice.  The family farm is a few hours away, but this barn gave us the same kind of feel we were looking for.  Afterward, we headed to the Arboretum in Highland Park for more photos (and to warm up - it was a cold windy day!).

Ann & Andy, I can't tell you how excited that you chose me for your wedding photographer.  Taking your engagement photos was a lot of fun and gave me a few new ideas for your wedding photos.  I have a feeling an apple might make an appearance in a photo or 2 ;)  More to come in June!

Shannon & Jeff | Engaged

I can't tell you how excited I was when I received an email from Shannon, asking me to take her engagement photos.  Shannon and I lived together during college.  We've kept in touch, but haven't been able to see each other since then, so when she wanted to come to Rochester for photos I.Was.Ecstatic!  Not only to see her again, but to meet her husband to be, Jeff.  The two are *perfectly* matched...take a look!

The thing I love the most, is when a couple knows exactly where they want photos taken.  I always ask if they have a location in mind, and am thrilled when they have a favorite place of theirs, or an idea that would represent them as a couple.  Shannon knew she wanted a country setting, as well as a music setting.  And so the research began!  A week or so later, we had our perfect places picked out :)  A beautiful barn and The Record Archive.

Thank you to The Record Archive for letting us use your shop! What a cool location :)
Thank you Shannon & Jeff for spending the afternoon with me.  I had so much fun with you - and am happy to see you found your perfect matches. Can't wait to see you again Shannon - the Galleria is calling our name :)
